The Reach for the Stars Grand Gala Auction was a success!

Dear Friends,

Thank you to everyone who took part in our 2012 Reach for the Stars Grand Gala and Auction benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County!  The event, held at Comcast Arena in Everett on Saturday, October 20, 2012 brought together nearly 450 guests who together raised over $300,000 to help further BGCSC’s Mission – To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Area Director Marci Volmer served as Master of Ceremonies. She introduced the Board President Diana Clay who got the evening started by thanking everyone who attended, the sponsors, and the donors. A highlight of the live auction was the Raise-The-Paddle portion, which raised nearly $100,000. The audience was entertained by auctioneer Don Jones from the Stokes group and moved by stories from University of Wyoming’s Head Football Coach, Dave Christensen and parent, Andrew Urie. They were captivated by Snohomish Clubs Kid, Jervin Villena’s rendition of The Greatest Love of All for the evening gala.

With 86 cents of every dollar donated to BGCSC going directly to Club programs and services, you can be assured that your gift is having a significant impact on helping young people achieve academic success, to learn how to live healthy lifestyles, and to become good role models and citizens of their community.

About Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County is a non-profit organization providing kids ages 5-18 with a safe and positive place to spend their time before and after school and during the summer. Our 17 Clubs and 16 school-based extension sites offer programs helping nearly 15,000 kids achieve academic success, live healthy and active lifestyles, and develop good character and leadership skills. Clubs are strategically located in neighborhoods and are accessible to all kids.

Since 1946, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County has been helping kids stay out of trouble, stay in school, and succeed in life. Clubs provide a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours. Priority programs emphasize academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. In a Harris Survey of alumni, 57 percent said the Club saved their lives.
