InspireHer Programs for Girls are designed to inspire girls by creating opportunities that develop strong bodies and minds, foster leadership and community involvement, and provide access to career and academic resources.
The purpose of programming in this area is to help InspireHer girls explore resources and opportunities to help them prepare for success in academics and their future careers. Current programming includes:
Future U – Girls 14-18
This programming offers guided lessons on professional communication including how to draft emails and professional correspondence, and provide opportunities to learn about a variety of career options through our InspireHer TEA (Technology Engineering Aptitude) workshop.
A Day in the Life – Girls 15 -18
InspireHer girls will explore career options through interaction with professional women from various industries as well as gain tips on writing resumes and interviewing for jobs.
Behind the Scenes – Girls 14-18
InspireHer girls will get the opportunity to tour several companies in the Puget Sound region to learn about jobs and see professionals in action.
Character & Citizenship
The purpose of programming in this area is to help girls foster their leadership abilities and make an impact on their communities now and in the future. Current programming includes:
Outdoor Adventures – Girls 6-18
InspireHer girls will hike local trails to meet with female hikers and climbers and participate in trail maintenance. The program will promote interest in outdoor activities and community service.
Pay it Forward – Girls 10-18
Through Pay It Forward, InspireHer girls will work with local animal shelters to walk, groom and spend time with homeless animals leading to planning and participating in an Adopt-a-Pet Event in Snohomish County.
Lead the Way – Girls 10-18
InspireHer girls spend the day in Olympia meeting with female legislators and seeing our government at work.
The purpose of programming in this area is to help girls develop sound bodies and sound minds, learning the importance of healthy and active lifestyles, good self-esteem, and self-care. Current programming includes:
BeYOUtiful You – Girls 8-18
BeYOUtiful You programs will focus on helping InspireHer girls build both their mental and physical well-being, as well as self-esteem. Topics covered in this program will include proper nutrition, dress, make-up, and etiquette.
Word Nerds – Girls 8-12 and 13-18
Book clubs will be run in local Boys & Girls clubs allowing InspireHer girls to discuss current issues facing them. The three core programs of InspireHer will be woven into the context of the group discussions.
Movin’ & Groovin’ – Girls 8-18
The Movin’ & Grovin’ programs will focus on providing exposure to a variety of physical activities that they may not have been exposed to in the past including Zumba, yoga, pilates/barre, circuit training, run/walk mileage clubs, self-defense, and dance.
