If the Edmonds School District is having a late opening, we will do our best to open the Alderwood Boys & Girls Club by 6:15am. However, we will encourage our staff to drive safely. Therefore, you should call the club before you leave your house to be sure that a staff member has arrived at the site. Weather permitting, children at the Alderwood Boys & Girls Club will be transported to school at the time designated by the Edmonds School District.
The Alderwood Boys & Girls Club will automatically be closed on the first day of a storm if the Edmonds School District is closed. On any following days school is closed, our director will make an open/closed decision based on weather, road, and building conditions. We will leave an announcement on the voice mail system, usually by 5:30am. You should call the Alderwood Boys & Girls Club to see if we are open BEFORE you bring your child to the Club.
If the Edmonds School District closes early, we will pick up the children from school as soon as possible. For the safety of our staff, we will close the club as soon as possible on early dismissal days. Therefore, we ask that you listen to the school district closure announcements on the radio if the weather appears to be getting worse. In addition, we will also call to ask you to pick up your child on days that the club and Edmonds School District closes early.
Reminder: In the event of a power outage, we must close the Alderwood Boys & Girls Club as soon as possible due to lack of heat. You will be called to pick up your child as soon as possible
