Bill Tsoukalas to Retire; Marci Volmer Promoted to President & CEO

Everett, WA — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County today announced the retirement of longtime CEO Bill Tsoukalas, marking the end of an extraordinary chapter in the organization’s history. Bill has led the organization for 37 years with unwavering commitment—expanding its footprint, deepening community partnerships, and transforming the lives of countless youth and families across the region.

“Bill’s legacy is one of service, compassion, and impact,” said Walter Hock, Chair of the Board of Directors. “He has strengthened every facet of the organization and built a team fully capable of carrying the mission forward.”

To ensure a smooth and seamless leadership transition, the Board of Directors is proud to announce the promotion of Marci Volmer to President and Chief Executive Officer. Marci’s journey with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County is a testament to her deep connection to the mission. She began her involvement as a Club parent and quickly became an active advocate. Her leadership potential was evident early on, leading to her appointment as Unit Director at the Snohomish Club, followed by a promotion to Area Director, and then to her most recent role as Chief Operating Officer. In that capacity, she has overseen day-to-day operations, strategic expansion, and community engagement initiatives across the county.

“Marci is a passionate leader who embodies the values of the Boys & Girls Clubs,” said Tsoukalas. “She understands the needs of our youth and communities because she has lived it—from the front lines to the boardroom. I look forward to working with Marci as I transition into retirement.”

Marci Volmer is well-positioned to lead the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County into its next era—building upon the strong foundation of growth and opportunity that has defined the organization for decades. Her personal history, deep institutional knowledge, and community-first mindset will ensure that the Club’s mission remains vibrant and responsive to the evolving needs of families throughout the region.
