Brewster Club Receives Grant from Okanogan Valley Fund
The Brewster Boys & Girls Club is among 32 nonprofits receiving support through the Community Foundation of North Central Washington’s (CFNCW) Okanogan Valley Fund (OVF) Legacy Grant Program this year—an investment that continues to strengthen opportunities for youth across the region.
CFNCW awarded a total of $140,000 in grants throughout the Okanogan Valley, with the Brewster chapter of the Boys & Girls Club receiving $5,000 to support its ongoing work serving local youth. The funding helps sustain programs that provide safe spaces, mentorship, and enrichment opportunities for young people in Brewster—an essential resource in a rural county where access to youth services can be limited.
Established just last year, the Okanogan Valley Fund spans more than 5,300 square miles, covering Washington State’s largest county by land area. Its mission is simple but powerful: ensure local voices guide funding decisions so resources reach the communities that need them most.
Each spring, the fund supports organizations tackling critical needs like food security, housing, education, and community enrichment. This year’s grants were awarded from a pool of 37 applicants and reflect the diversity and resilience of nonprofits across the valley—from remote community halls to youth-focused organizations like the Brewster Boys & Girls Club.
What makes the OVF especially impactful is its community-driven approach. A Local Advisory Board (LAB), made up entirely of Okanogan Valley residents, reviews applications, conducts site visits, and recommends funding priorities. Their firsthand knowledge ensures that grants reflect real needs on the ground.
As CFNCW celebrates this year’s recipients, the investment in the Brewster Boys & Girls Club stands out as a meaningful contribution to the next generation—supporting a place where kids can learn, grow, and thrive.
